Rillito is a stirring poem written and read here by Alison Hawthorne Deming. If you come from the relatively water-rich East, you might have a hard time believing that the Rillito is actually considered by Arizonans to be a river. Deming plays with this idea in the poem, while at the same time hinting at the grave water issues threatening the Southwest.
